Desmond, Caroline and Robert, it was with great sadness that I heard of your mam's passing. She was such a beautiful lady with the biggest smile. I have great memories of her over the past 40 years, at the Ladies Club, collecting her "clubs" and our many chats at the shops. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this terribly sad time. I'm away at the moment so was unable to attend Vera's funeral. May she rest in peace now with her beloved Dessie

Although I only had the pleasure of meeting Vera at Desmond’s and Suzanne’s wedding, I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. She was a lovely woman who made us feel so welcome. You can often tell the character of a person by the children they raise. Based on that, I can see that she was a remarkable mother who raised wonderful children. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.

Just heard of your mams passing. So sorry for you guys. I remember chats with Vera while she was heading home from st martins school with Robert in a buggy after leaving Des and Caroline at the school

Rest in paradise Vera, I hope you’re up there knitting away surrounded by sweet treats and cups of tea. You’ll be missed by all and I’m so happy to have met you.

I did not know your mother, but think that anyone who can raise a son who is kind, ambitious, talented and educated as you, must have been exceptional. I will not be able to attend the funeral (but will online--remember fondly your kind mention of me at your father's funeral so many years ago).
