It was with great sadness that we saw the notice of Vera's death. A good friend to our mother, Kitty, she will be greatly missed by you all and her wide circle of friends.
It is a very difficult time and we are sad not to be able to come to her funeral to show our respect.

You don’t know me but I would just like to pass on our condolences to your family. I had reason to catch up with Vera a few years ago. As a result of her generosity and kindness I tracked her to Bray. She had donated money to Mother Theresa through my mother and 15 yrs after Mams death I found a letter she had written to Vera but never got a chance to post. It was a joy and a pleasure to meet Vera and we struck a cord. May she Rest In Peace and may you all have peace in your hearts.

Cnndndolence to Veras family on her passing i worked with Veta in D L R S a lovely woman may she rest in peace in the arms of the angels.

Vera was the most wonderful neighbour for the past 35 years. Her attention to detail , her listening ear, her caring attitude, her wit and her love were boundless. We felt secure and safe knowing she was next door. My children once took a hammer to the bedroom wall in order to be able to talk to Nick and Vera at bedtime. She was Charnwood for not only us but my extended family. I will miss her strength of character, her sorting of my troubles of dressing me for an event. But mostly I will miss my friend because she was my family and truly the one and only Vera.

Her love of a bit of gentle ribbing coupled with her natural inclination towards warm and real conversation as well as that cheeky look in her eyes made me love her so much. She was the same with my dad and I know for a fact that he loved her as much as I did. We all did. I'll miss her so much because of her quick wit, her warmth and well, just because she was always herself around me..... she was Vera. Heartfelt condolences to all of you and will be praying for her.
