Fr. Diarmuid was a good man and a holy man; quite orthodox in his faith but a great believer and preacher of the mercy and wisdom of God. Catholicism at its best came alive in him and he was a living embodiment of true sanctity. Our loss at his parting is tempered by the certainty he will enjoy a great reward and happiness for ever. Colm Fitzpatrick

Deepest Sympathy to the Connolly / Drury Family on the death of Fr. Diarmuid. As a family we were neighbours for very many years on Westfield Road. I was the youngest of six so missed out on the fun the family had as they were all of the same age and played in each others gardens. There was always something been passed over the wall until Nuala left. Happy memories and the end of an era. Annette and Mary Corrigan, Westfield Road. May Fr. Diarmuid Rest In Peace.

Deepest sympathies to Fr Connolly's family. My mam was a resident of Elm Green Nursing Home for over 6 years and Fr Connolly's visits for confession (First Friday) and Sunday Mass were the most important times in her week. He always made time to speak to my mam after Mass and listened to her in confession, giving her sound advice. We looked forward to seeing him drive up on a Sunday afternoon. Fr Connolly also said prayers with our family the day my mam was dying and again in the Elm Green chapel on the night before her funeral. It was what my mam would have wanted most! He was a very important person in her life - can't believe he was actually 6 months older than my mam. Many thanks for your wonderful Uncle Diarmuid.

My deepest sympathy extended to the family of Fr. Diarmuid Connelly. I felt very privileged to have had him in my life both as a Celebrant for my wedding and a loving sincere gentleman with whom we always kept in touch. My late Aunt Kathleen from Ballinasillogue Co. Wicklow was a housekeeper for Fr. Diarmuid and my late Dad John Byrne sister of Kathleen from Ballinasillogue always expressed how kind and a wonderful gentleman he was. I spent many summer's with them in Skerries, and visited him regularly in Castleknock. I will miss him sadly & he will be missed by everyone who knew him. A very gently soul. May he rest in peace.
