Very Rev. Fr. James Lindsay Byrne

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Father James Byrne. As a Funeral Director watching him as he cared for the Toowoommba community I was always impressed by his Pastor heart. I will miss him. Rest in peace. Sympathy to his family.

I had the pleasure of staying with him in his parish in 2001 when visiting Queensland. He introduced me to Fr. Tom Keegan, who, like myself, was a product of St. Patrick’s College, Thurles. I was so saddened to learn of Fr. James' sudden death. He was a very kind and jolly man. He was always very helpful and supportive in any way he could. Have fond memories of him in Fatima and especially when he lived with Fr. John Joe when his house was getting repaired.
Prayerful sympathies to his entire family circle and to Janina his devoted housekeeper. May this Faithful Priest Rest in the Peace of Christ.

We were fortunate that he came to share his ministry with us in Stranorlar, bringing with him a unique personality characterised by his great good humour and his wonderful singing voice.
