Sincere sympathy to the o Donovan family on Father Michael's death. When he was in Carrigfada he regularly visited his parishioners , he was a priest for the people. He had a an incredible memory of people's names as anybody who attended the schools of Caheragh parish would know. May he rest in peace.

Our sympathies to all the O'Donavan family on the passing of Fr Michael. May he rest in peace. He was one of a kind and really cared for the people of all ages. He had an incredible memory for names of everyone of all ages and a great connection with the young people. He was very kind and appreciated their help. They enjoyed the panto to the Oprea House , the selection boxs and easter eggs. When in the Parish assembley he was great to help in guideing the group on what we could do. We have great memories especially of him enjoying the horse and trap spins on the old fashioned walks to mass. He was involved in setting up the defibrilator group, the young at Heart group for our seniors. He was of course too young to join but called in to join them at times to see how they were keeping. He always wanted them to be treated every Christmas to a party. He hosted the stations for our area. We all enjoyed lovely evening. Farewell to a great man. He wil be fondly remembered by many,
Kind thoughts and gentle prayers shared with Father Michael's family and friends at this sad time.

To the O'Donovan Family, our deepest sympathy on your loss. Fr Michael was one of the first priests ordained at our parish - Church of the Assumption, Ballyphehane on 26 May 1956. Our Church was opened on 1 April 1956. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dílis.

Our deepest sympathy to the O'Donovan family. Fr Michael was our beloved parish priest for twenty three years. He was a regular visitor to our homes & our school. He organised an annual trip to the panto each Christmas for choir members, which was such a treat . Fr Michael joined us each year for our Macra AGM enjoying & taking part in the conversation & fun. He loved to share stories of his travels abroad especially his time spent ministering & working in Africa. He gently developed & nurtured a deep faith in those of blessed to be his parishioners. His intellect & sharp wit but most of all his friendship & kindness will be so dearly missed. May his gentle spirit rest in peace.

We have very fond memories of Fr Michael in our family and in the parish. We treasure the memory of his visits to school and his unfailing patience, kindness and interest in the children, their work and stories. His ability to remember the name of every child he met, even years later, was amazing.
In the choir, we always appreciated his thoughtful encouragement and support and his annual treat of the Panto trip was a highlight for many.
