Our Dearest Padre was full of stories of encounters and adventures. Growing up we were captivated by Fr. Sheerin’s joy, kindness, and generosity of spirit. He was family from the start. Vacations, marching up 5th Avenue, Brooklyn summers then Irish summers, late night ice cream sodas, and visits on the stoop were always better with the Padre!! We are the richer for having been blessed with his friendship. His profound wit and wisdom will be truly missed! Much Love…

My condolences to Fr Sheerin's family and many friends. Fr Sheerin was an extraordinary person who was loved by my family as one of our own. Grateful for so many happy memories in NY and Ireland....Godspeed Fr. Sheerin.

My late father struck up a close bound with Fr Michael when he came to LOBINSTOWN .. He accompanied my father on many trips around the country visiting friends and he regularly visited our home in Tullyallen .. .He was part of many great family occasions and always good humored ..
