My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Father Brady. He was a larger than life figure to all who attended St Mel's, but especially the boarders with whom he shared a special relationship, having served as Dean of "Smacht" and later as President. I shall always remember Father Brady fondly. He had a mischievous sense of humour and strangely never lost a single soccer match on "back courts" which infuriated many. The truth was he was observing us, teaching us, moulding us. He was an intelligent,devout, honest, humble man and our centurion. May he rest in peace 🙏

All of us who knew Fr. Peter so well and for so long, were profoundly saddened to hear of his sudden death. A great Mentor in St. Mels, our Alma Mater and a wonderful shepherd to all his flocks. When he first came to St. Mel’s he brought boundless energy and with his then youthful enthusiasm introduced many modern innovations and made our stay therein all the more tolerable and enjoyable. He truly left a benign indelible mark upon us all. A proponent of sports and athleticism and some of his most gifted pupils in that regard left their mark both nationally and internationally. Sincerest condolences to all his family friends and parishioners. It was however, comforting to know that he died in perfect peace in his own armchair safe in the hands of the Lord. Soon mourning will be replaced with happy memories and great stories of a life well lived.
