Condolences to the Murphy Family and many friends saddened by the passing of two great men in Fr Tom and Fintan. To all those involved in the funeral of Canon Tom well done it was a truly superb send off and fitting for the man, who no doubt would not have wished for any such tribute but a tribute that was so richly deserved. To the people of Ballyragget Wow! From those who greeted and assisted people arriving and parking, to those making the tea for those who travelled a distance, to the Murphy family for speaking so graciously to one and all, to Fr Eamon, choir, sacristans and anyone who assisted in the prayers and mass it was so very well done. He leaves a void for many and a life to be copied for those wishing to lead a good one. May he rest in peace in his eternal reward richly deserved and reunited with his family.

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Anna, Fintan and Fr. Tom Murphy. It certainly leaves a big void in the village. He was a class behind me in the Rower NS (now aptly renamed Marymount NS) in honor of another great product of the Rower, Mother Marie Joseph Butler. She left a legacy of several grade schools, high schools and universities around the globe, not to mention all her care for the marginalized in society. Was it the water in the River Barrow or the idyllic views of Brandon Hill that nourished so many vocations from that one tiny Village? RIP Tom!

Fr Tom's legacy in No Name Club will always be remembered and valued by all of us. Along with Eamon and Eddie, he has created a welcoming, safe, and fun social outlet for thousands of young people throughout this country.
While in Slieverue, his welcoming support and friendship was greatly appreciated by my family, particularly around family occasions. Fr. Tom's presence at that time is still talked of and valued by us. May he rest in peace.
