Very Reverend Fr Criostóir Mac Donald

May Fr Criostoir Rest in Peace.
I remember when he used to visit Crosshaven Secondary School during my final year 1993/94.
He died on my (paternal) granddad's 27th anniversary.

My sincere condolences to Fr. Criostoir’s family, friends and parishioners. As a parishioner of Curraheen, it was a joy and a privilege to attend Fr. Criostoir’s masses and I always came away with a thought provoking yet uplifting message to reflect on. His talk about faith greatly enhanced my own and I will be forever grateful for that.
May he rest in peace.

It was a shock to learn of the death of Fr. Criostóir. He was of great support to my extended family during a recent bereavement, and he had celebrated an anniversary Mass for us in St. Joseph's only days before he passed away. My deepest sympathy to his family and fellow clergy on their very sad and sudden loss.

Deepest sympathy to Ann and family as well as extended relatives and friends on the untimely death of Fr Criostóir. Fond memories of our time in the Abbey School. A kind unassuming gentleman. May he rest in peace.

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Cristóir. We were so lucky to have him in our parish Crosshaven. He was just such a kind humble decent person and an excellent priest to our community. I was part of the parish Folk group, he loved hearing what we had planned for masses especially Easter. He did us the great honour of marrying us, in the North Cathedral on the anniversary of his ordination and had us in gales of laughter in the Sacristy as we signed the register, he loved a good giggle. He also christened our Son, whom he always kindly remembered. We offer our sincere condolences to Cristóir's sister Ann and family, extended family and friends and his faith family. We will pray for you Cristóir may you pray for us. May he Rest in eternal peace 🌷

My sincere condolences to Anne and all the family. While I haven't been in contact with Croistoir for many years, I have lovely memories of our time in Maynooth. Croistoir through his ministry has touched the lives of many people. We are all the better for having known him. We pray in thanksgiving for his life of faithful service. The kind words of recollection, praise and condolence offered in these pages show the high esteem in which
Criostóir was held by very many people and the fondness they felt for him. As a first cousin, I remember meeting him as a boy - only a few years younger than me - when visiting “Auntie Sadie and Uncle Joe” in Skibbreen from the UK in the summer months. Later, we sometimes met at family events. We lived very different lives and held quite divergent values, nevertheless he was always kind and welcoming whenever we met. At this time I send my most sincere sympathy to Anne, Robert, Ciarán and Kalin, and the many others saddened by Criostóir’s death.

What a great priest. Fr Criostòir motivated me to become a Minister of the Word. His engaging sermons and reverence for the Lord did not go unnoticed. "By their fruits you shall know them." I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Fr. Criostóir. He was a source of guidance and inspiration to many, and his presence will be deeply missed. I have lovely memories of visiting Skibberreen and spending summers visiting Sadie and Joe Mac Donald and playing out in the Mill Road park with Anne and Criostoir as well as my brother Denis and sister Ann .
