Victor Murray

My sincere sympathy to the Murray family on Victor's passing. I had many dealings with him over the course of my career in CIE and always enjoyed meeting him at the monthly REST lunches after we retired. A thorough gentleman, a great colleague and friend and good company on train or bus trips. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

We would like to convey our deepest condolences to Alice and all of the Murray on the passing of Victor.
We have many fond memories growing up on Cooley Rd in Drimnagh when our parents Ellen and Jimmy would have a party which often included all the Murray family. Victor would bring his accordion and we would have lots of singing and dancing to some old time waltzes' .May he now rest in peace.

Alice Brendan Ronan Colm Dermot and Kevin and the extended family. What can we say about one of our Dads oldest and dearest friend. They worked together in CIE for so many years and when both were getting married decided to get houses near each other. You on the Drive. Crosses on the Park. In the days when neighbours were called Mr & Mrs we had the honour of calling you Uncle Victor and Auntie Alice. You were so kind to us all. Your home resounded with music and you were a great accordian player and played even in our house when adult get togethers went on. Always lots of laughter too. So glad to have visited no 50 only 6 weeks ago when you were in your usual wonderful form. You will be so missed .

First met Victor in the early 70's at a chess tournament and later when we played together for Elm Mount Chess Club, of which he was President for many years. Victor was a gentleman and always good company. He will be sadly missed. May he Rest in peace.
