I am very sorry for your loss. Vinnie and I were best friends in the 1970's Both in the FCA and the Dublin Jazz Society . We enjoyed many a jazz session in Kellys of John Rogerson Quay. After our training in the 11th sigs on a Sunday Where Vinnie and I wereonce asked to leave as we were in army uniform. Vinnie and his father were very good friends to me during bad times

Vincent was a true and dear friend who I came to know in my late teens. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I will always remember him fondly. My condolences and deep sympathy on their loss. May he rest in peace.

I remember as a 16 year old going to a recruitment for 11th field signal corp we were greeted by Capt May he was a nice man who when i served in the unit was always approachable if you needed advice and help was given .
We were on camp overseas as we were in bere island co cork because we used the ferry it was technically overseas he told us .
Thanks Vinny for the guidance and support that you gave to me and lot of people .

Vinnie May of 11 Fld Sigs 6 Bde attended annual camp with 21 Inf Bn and became an indispensable comrade and character. And 11 Fld Sigs was dripping with characters. You could feel his smile. Infantry men regarded technical soldiers as backup. But with Vinny you knew he had your back. Echo Tango Sierra Vinnie.
