My prayers are with you all. I remember my uncle Vincent with fond memories. At a younger age I always thought Vincent and my father were twins. God bless.
Deepest sympathy to you Susan and all your family on the passing of your lovely Dad. It was a privilege to have him as a member of our choir. May he Rest In Peace.
Dear Susan and family, I am very sorry to hear the sad news about Vincent. It is wonderful that Vincent enjoyed singing with us in the choir. We will really miss him.
My fondest memories of Vincent was when we were working down in Aghada, Cork and it was Vincent’s turn to drive. We were motoring along in the Cortina about 5 o’clock in the morning and passing through one of the towns along the way, when all of a sudden, the car shudders to a halt. We didn’t know what had happened then all of a sudden Vincent calmly says “I’ve just run out of petrol”. Luckily for us we were just 100 yds away from a petrol station but that’s when our luck ran out as it didn’t open until 8 o’clock. We all got out and pushed the car to the petrol station and were waiting for it to open when Vincent got the idea that we would play a game so as to put in the time while we were waiting. Vincent went to the boot of his car an took out 2 tennis rackets and a tennis ball and we started playing squash against the gable wall of the garage. Anyway, we got the petrol and proceeded to the site albeit late. We arrived, just in time for 10 o’clock tea and slagging was immense about running out of the petrol and playing games at that hour of the morning. There was also a cartoon circulating around the site later of Vincent’s car with a petrol tanker trailer attached and Tennis rackets tied onto the trailer. Vincent had to put up with that for a while after. Condolences to you Mary, Susan, David and Gerrard. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis
I worked with Vincent building The Rinn Voyager in Dublin Port. He was one of life's true gentlemen, a gifted craftsman always full of chat, stories and good humour. My condolences to Mary and his family at this sad time, may he rest in peace.
