I met Vincent and Marian most recently when they showed up in a Pub where Ger was playing with his band 'Jet Lag Paddy' one night in Aug last year.
They were both in good form and I was impressed that they would come out - with Vincent driving - for such an event, considering they were no spring chickens at the time.
I didn't know him well, but I know that Vincent had a massive impact on everyone he met, not least on his sons and his wife who I know will all miss him lots.

I'm so very sorry to hear of the passing of Vincent. I had the pleasure of meeting Vincent and Marian a year or two ago in their house, as I helped them with some cleaning. Great man, couldn't believe his age at the time. Lovely couple.

es ist wirklich viele Jahre her (1985?1986?) als ich zum Jahreswechsel zu Gast in Johns Elternhaus sein durfte.
Für mich eine unvergessliche Zeit weil ich eine ausgesprochen herzliche Gastfreundschaft erlebt habe. Nie mehr hat mir jemand (Mrs. Gormley nämlich!) den morgendlichen Tee ans Bett gebracht. Das wärmt mich bis heute.
In diesen schönen Erinnerungen denke ich heute an Euch wenn ihr Abschied nehmt von Vincent Gormley- mein herzliches Beileid!

I met Vincent only a couple of times, but from the way John always spoke about him, I know his passing is an enormous loss. The send-off you gave him was warm and loving (I attended virtually).
