Im sorry I'm unable to be there for Vincent's final goodbye but he and his loving family will be very much in my thoughts as i watch online.
Vincent and I were school pals through the secondary years and we walked the canal regularly to and from James's Street swapping stories and generally shooting the breeze.
He and my mum got on famously even though he dropped the O when addressing her. She rightly saw the goodness in the boy.
I can still see the beads if sweat on his forehead as he worked tirelessly....to create goal chances on the concrete pitch in school. His work in the classroom however, I couldnt attest to 😀
I was so delighted to link up with Vincent again in 2009 when The Class of 1973 gathered in Dublin. He was still as genuine and lovely then as I remember when we parted at the school gates in 1978.
He was one of lifes finest.
That beaming smile was testament to the man I'm sure he grew up to be.
We were lucky to have met you Vincent.
Rest well pal.
