On behalf of Trinity Squash Club, we would like to extend our sincere condolences to Vincent’s wife Rose, daughters Rachel and Louise, extended family, friends, and all those in the Trinity Squash community who were privileged to call him a colleague, mentor, or friend.

Vincent was a towering presence in the history of our club – a dedicated supporter, player, and mentor. Long before many of us joined, Vincent had already left an indelible mark, helping shape the culture and spirit of the club we cherish today. He was a valued member of the Trinity squash community and his legacy is fondly remembered by all who knew him.

I am very saddened to hear of Vincent's death and deepest condolences to all the family. I knew Vincent from my time working in the Science Faculty and the School of Physics. He was a lovely, gentle soul with great time for everyone, especially the students.

I was very sorry to hear of Vincent’s passing. My sincere condolences to Rose, Rachel, Louise and family. Thinking of you all.

Dear Rose, Rachel, Louise, grandchildren and all extended family may I offer my heartfelt condolences on the very sad passing of Vincent. I know Co.Kerry had a special place in Vincent's heart and he spent many happy holidays renting my late Mother's holiday home down here in Inch many years ago where I remember playing with girls and remember the very kind father you both had. My late Mother always had lovely things to say about the Weldon family. Thinking of you all at this very sad time in your lives. ❤️

Dear Rose,

I remember, with great affection, the many years we worked together in the Psychology Department, AAP, Trinity College. It was there that I met Vincent - such a kind, gentle and caring man, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I was so sorry that I could not be there with you this morning but I watched the beautiful service online. I was very impressed by Rachael's speech about her loving Dad, the gorgeous flowers and the sweet voice and music of the harpist.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Vincent’s passing. He was a great mentor to me during my time in the Semiconductor Physics Group at TCD, and it was a privilege to have shared that time with him—both in the lab and on the squash court.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Vincent, a former work colleague in the School of Physics, Trinity College.

I always found Vincent to be so very approachable with a relaxed and friendly style dealing with any work issue.

To me too, he was the king and backbone of the laser labs. Vincent was the go-to person on any question when visiting there. The usual response from everybody you met was, “ask Vincent”, who was never too far away and would drop what he was doing to help you out.

A very kind man, appreciated by everybody who knew him in Trinity, and I offer my sincere condolences to Rose and all his family on his sad passing.

It was with great sorry that I heard of Vincent’s death. I worked with Vincent for many a year and played squash unsuccessfully for many a year also. Vincent was a most wonderful man and loved by all of us who came to know him. My deepest sympathy to Rose and family and be assured that you had the gem of a man in your lives…

I'm very sorry to hear of Vincent`s death. He was a kind and talented man who contributed so much to the TCD Physics School whether it was making equipment or helping with the experiments and providing advice.

I was one of the first PhD students in John Hegarty’s brand new labs in Trinity and I will always remember the daily support and guidance we received from Vincent on everything from ordering lenses to how to shut the door properly! He was such a kind, gentle and patient man and an excellent researcher to boot. Those days in the lab were some of the most exciting in my life and it was a privilege to have shared that time with Vincent. May he rest in peace.
