Our deepest sympathy to you all on the great loss of Wally rip. We were so lucky to hear Wally perform in Galway over the years.

Wally: truly a one of a kind - say it like it is musical treasure. Those sweet eyes that brightened the whole world when you smiled. That kick-you-in-arse when no one else would do it for you. You had a sense about you that saw through the quagmires of life and then layed them out for us to ingest. I am so, so grateful to have known you and call you my friend. Johnny M, Luke, Daniel and grandkiddos, you are all in my thoughts.

Dear Luke and Daniel,

Herewith I send you my condolences to you and the rest of your family. I wish you all the strength needed. Your father was a great man. I had the honor to become friends with him and share the stage with him many times here in the Netherlands en Belgium. We did some great tours together. He was a unique musician, songsmith and above all a warm, friendly, humorous and very inspiring man. There's so many great memories I'll never forget. He and his songs are in my heart forever. Important to tell you: he always shared stories about his two sons, he was a real proud dad. So my last words here are especially for you guys. The words we always ended up with after the long distance conversations we had between Dublin and Amsterdam. Keep that motor running!

A true artiste and a gentleman, I had the great pleasure of being in his company when we completed the Camino and also enjoyed his hospitality in his house in Dublin. Sadly we can never meet again. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Those nights in Annesley House were very special and I’m glad I was aware of that every night I was there. Wally was such a talented man of music and song and was also humble and gentle and good fun. With fondest memories.

Truly devastated when we heard the news Friday that Wally had left us.
There are only wonderful memories with Wally, in every way, and this loss is just too big for all of us.
