My sincere sympathies to Wattys family.i have so many great memories of watty on my many visits to grange golf club you always left Watty in good form and a smile on your face may he rest in peace
Sincere condolences to Evelyn, Brendan, sister Ann, and the extended family on the loss of your dear Watty. He will be fondly remembered as a unique character, a true gentleman and a great golf teacher of many years. I had the pleasure of getting to know Watty as the coach of the Irish Girls Golf team in the early 70s, out on the practice area to the right of the 5th fairway up in Grange GC. We had many hours of patient instruction and more than a few laughs. I was next partnered with your dad in the Cavan GC Pro-Am in 1987. Had the best round of my life on the old course returning the Best Gross with a 73, and claiming a new course record for Ladies. Your dad was afraid to open his mouth the whole round in case he broke the 'spell'. It was the only time I ever saw him lost for words!! He was effusive afterwards in his praise and was so proud of his former student. It was a great night of celebration.
May Watty rest in peace along with his beloved Bridie. No doubt they are again walking the fairways together like in the old times and Watty is opening and closing a few gates!

My sincere sympathy to the Sullivan family on the sad passing of Wattie. Always a true gentleman with a warm welcome on visits to Grange. Many summer days spent on the practice ground during the 70's with Leinster girls coaching. I still remember the 6,9,3 on the face of the clock.

My condolences to Brendan and all his family on the passing of his father.
My deepest sympathy to all of the Sullivan family on the loss of Watty. The best golf lesson and lesson in life I ever got was from Watty, and it didn't improve my golf swing. For being a smart aleck during a golf lesson one morning for Juniors at the Grange when I was only 13, Watty sent me back to the clubhouse. I was ashamed at the time but that "Red Card" from Watty enlightened me to the respect for the wonderful game of golf, which has now stood with me in a career of over 40 years in golf management around the world and now in Japan. A career in which my first job ever after leaving school was to caddie for Watty at the Irish PGA at Royal Dublin in 1979! May you Rest in Peace Watty - you're a legend!
My deepest sympathy to the Sullivan family. Watty and Bridie were so welcoming and encouraging to me, when I moved to Dublin and joined Grange GC. I feel privileged to have known them both.

My deepest condolences to the Sullivan family on Watty's sad passing. His juveniles and juniors in the early 60's adored him and followed his instructions to " Give it hell" off the tee and then worry about the next shot. He was also once asked what club to play on the second in Grange and said it didn't matter before he put it on the green with every club in the bag from driver to putter.
He was a great teacher a thorough gentleman and my hero. May he rest in peace.

To Watty's dear family I wish to send my condolences. I had the greatest pleasure of playing in a Pro Am in Ballybunion many year's ago with your late dear mother walking the course with us. It was my birthday and a few days later I got a birthday card from both of them with 3 ball markers with a bird on them Bridie said it was for my 3 birdies on the day. I still have them and I have never forgotten that day, it was such a pleasure to meet such a lovely gentleman and a such a gracious lady Bridie. May they both rest in heavenly peace. Thanks Watty's and Bridie for the pleasure. X

Deepest sympathy to Brendan , Evelyn & families, remembering the many happy hours spent chatting and listening to great stories from Wattie, overseen by Birdie. What lovely people. Great Grange man, didn’t need any special teaching facility to impart his knowledge, half way up the 18th. Fairway was fine for Watty. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a nanam
