Dear Tim,
So shocked and saddened to hear of Wendy's unexpected passing. I have so many happy memories of us all growing up in Cork. She always had a formidable spirit, sense of fun, and love of lively debate and would take on anybody if she sensed an injustice. Though we parted after school, our friendship was never diminished by time or distance in the last 50 years and we could pick up effortlessly where we left off whenever we met. I admired her resilience in the face of increasingly difficult health issues and will miss her greatly. My sincere condolences to you, Richard and your families.

A light has gone out in this world with Wendys unexpected death on New Years Day.

Wendy touched so many lives in her lifetime and made a difference everywhere she went. She was modest about her achievements but let little stand in her way if she saw a need or an injustice. She had much to contend with in her own health and yet she was always delighted to see you. I knew her over 60 years, and find it difficult to realise she is not here anymore. I will miss her.

Warmest sympathy to her family, her twin brother Tim and older brother Richard, her sisters in law and families.

I met Wendy through my role as a Primary Care Social Worker in 2024. She was a lovely person and a lot of fun. We had great conversations and many laughs. I once suggested that she go to the local day centre, and I brought her there for a visit. She wasn’t impressed at all and felt she would be far too lively and energetic for the other patrons, so she said she wouldn’t be going again — which I couldn’t help but laugh at. May she rest in peace.
