I'm deeply saddened to hear of the
passing of Wes.
As many have aleady said, he was an
absolute gent, a great musician and a powerhouse of a singer.
Wes and Loose Change were the
soundtrack to my youth. From my mid teens to my early 30's.
From regularly following them around various Gaa clubs, The Sheds, The Green Dolphin, numerous parties
and weddings, on the rig on main street in Malahide for the summer festivals, and not forgetting all the Sunday's in Gibney's - which always turned into late ones, to Wes giving myself and many other musicians their start on Monday's in Gibney's. And then, more often than not, dropped us off on the way home in the back of his van!

My deepest condolences to Wes's family, friends, and all the musicians who knew and loved him.
Rest easy.

We grew up with Wes and his family in St Annes, Raheny and have many happy memories of the budding talent that was Wes and his equally musical siblings Eric and Pauline. (They were Raheny's answer to the Von Trapp family).
Wes progressed to front one of the most popular bands to emerge from Raheny, Loose Change.
Together with his fellow band mates including his life long friend Gary Dixon they gave us many happy and memorable nights in the Green Dolphin and in Dunseedy / Raheny Utd FC.
Wes was always a very thoughtful and humble person born with a tremendous gift as a performer and musician and one wonders if he ever knew or realised how good he was or how his music transformed the lives of people for the better.
To his wife Jodie and dear children and to his siblings Eric, Pauline and David we offer our sincere condolences.
Heaven has just gained an exceptional entertainer.
Rock on Wes!

So very sorry to hear of Wes's passing. He was a fantastic musician, amazing vocalist & a genuinely lovely man. We first heard Loose Change perform in Naomh Barrog, Kilbarrack many years ago & were completely blown away. Many many amazing sessions followed in various locations (The Sheds in Clontarf was particularly unique venue it was so tiny) & each performance was brilliant - so much talent in one band!! Our very sincere sympathies to Jodie, all Wes's family & his bandmates in Loose Change
