Wilfred Stewart

Dear Willy, I am so sorry to hear you pass away. Since the day I met you, you were always so nice to me! I loved to see you smile, tell stories, jokes and songs. I remember when you came to Málaga, you enjoyed the orange trees in bloom and having a feed on the promenade and in my mum's house. Now, we have an orange tree in our backyard and the little fairy that you gave me a few years ago. I listen So do I, the song that always remind me of you, such an authentic and kind person, a real Irish gentlemen. You do not have to speak the same language to realize that, my family loved your caracter straight away. We will miss you and you will be always in our hearts. Big hug for all the Stewart family with all my love. I just imagine we will all meet again someday........ the day the fisherman likes... Hasta la vista querido Willy!

To Wilfred’s mam, Siobhan and extended family.
We were all shocked and saddened to hear of our friend Wilfred’s sudden death.
Little did any of us think that when he was leaving Harvest on the Thursday that would be the last time to see him.
We all have wonderful memories of and with Wilfred over the years here in Harvest Centre.
His wittiness, his warm personality, his curious mind, his story telling, his caring nature, his love for his dear mother Bernie, sister Siobhan and extended family, his artistic skills, his love and knowledge for plants/ flowers and lest we not forgot his love and devotion to his feathered friends.
Wilfred was a great character and we are all the better for both knowing him and being in his company over the years.
There will always be memories and reminders of Wilfred here in Kildare Town.
You may be gone but you won’t be forgotten. RIP Wilfred

I meant to see Willie ever since Tom's funeral, but life got in the way. Just a few weeks ago I had this urge to visit as I thought it may be the last chance. Myself and Duncan almost departed for Manor Kilbride one Sunday, but other affairs took place. Then weeks later I got this news. I always wanted to get to know Willie better. He was always so sweet when we'd visit the farm as kids. I also wanted to hear of his stories and his struggles, for I have been through much myself and could see a soul full of experience in him. I would have met Tom and all the others as a kid, but it was easier to remember Willie's beard. And was it him with the Cowboy hat? I grew up unaware of who was who till one day Duncan and I visited Tom, who I found out that day had my birthday. We got to see Willie briefly. Then weeks later Tom passed away. From what impressions I could get from these guys is they were holy, connected to spirit, even if their thoughts did not always appear so. May Willie & Tom's spirits soar, and I hope we can meet again some day. There of course were other Stewarts who I would have met many times as a child. Thank you all for a heartwarming ceremony and get together

Wilfred was such an interesting character and will be missed in the art room. His love of good music and terrible jokes lifted the mood of the room. He was a talented artist and his passion for the subjects was obvious. The hallway of Harvest will feel empty without seeing the lidl bags full of bargains that he just picked up.
