What a truly GREAT character that I have loved, and you are sadly missed. A remarkable person from a well-respected Savage family, he had a long and storied career caddying in Portmarnock.
Wilkie was always my caddie in Portmarnock (15+ years), and we usually spent the entire day together and many the nights in Gibney’s afterwards. Too much LOFT Wilkie !
A true testament to the man he was:- even when in remission, when he could hardly speak and obviously couldn’t caddy in his final years, he still made a point of coming out to the golf course just to greet me. I had texted him to let him know I was at Portmarnock, and despite his condition, he made sure to personally connect. As a successful horse owner, we hit it off like brothers and managed a few winning dockets.

RIP my dearest Wilkie.
