I was so very sad to hear of Will's passing. He took me, my daughter, sister and some friends kayaking along the Suir on a handful of glorious occasions when we were visiting Cahir. He was a kind and patient teacher and a lovely, genuine person. We loved our lessons with Will very much. May he RIP.

Ash, I was very sorry to hear that your father had passed away. Will was a lovely and unique man. It was plain to see that he adored you, and was incredibly proud of you as a person and of your creativity as an artist. I'm so sorry for your loss. Will was a hero, an artist, a teacher, a mentor, a magician of life and dear friend, whose award winning work in theatre, music, film, on mountains and the Suir has and will inspired many generations to come. His pride and dedication to d’village, the wider community, the environment and Éire knew no bounds.

Will founded STAC Youth Theatre (Cahir) in the 90’s where his approach exemplified kindness and compassion, embraced possibility and most importantly magic. His knowledge on Stanislavskian, Grotowskian and devised theatre models was second to none, and his sense of play, fun and direction was profound. He had the mind of a wizard with the adaptability of a chameleon. The ability to draw out the best of people, as opposed to force in.

My heartfelt condolences, hugs and love to Diane, Ferg, Cully, Ciaran and Helen, his grandchildren, brothers & sisters, extended family and friends.

“Bon Chance” Will-a-bobs. You were far too brilliant for this world but gosh wasn’t it all the better you were in it! See you on another stage ❤️🙏

Our sincere condolences to all the family and friends of Will Nugent. A kind generous man, who gave of his time so freely to many communities in the South Tipperary area. Will, did so much for Duhill and the Dramatic Society, producing so many sell out shows, and bringing his artistic spark to a small rural community, filling the walls of Duhill hall with rapturous laughter for many years. Will,was always helpful and forthcoming with assistance whether it be on stage or out on a kayak on the Suir. Will, you’ll be missed. May you rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Will's passing. I first met Will in the late 80's when he was selling fresh orange juice. Then many years later as he entertained us all at Christmas out at the duck pond as the fantastic wizard. My son and I also had the absolute pleasure of kayaking in Cahir with Will. He was a lovely man, great brain, loved conversation and laughs. He was fantastic with kids. He always had time for people. May he rest in peace. He was a fantastic guide and endless source of positive energy. After the canoe trip had finished, Will sang and played Irish music at the pub, making it a truly unforgettable experience for a pair of visiting Americans. May he rest in peace.
