I have found it hard to sit down and write out this message. My thoughts and prayers are with Pamela and the wider family at this time.

Bill was a true friend who gave a thousand times more than he reveived. A gentlemen in the true sense of the word. Generous, loyal and the life and soul of every occasion.

I was so saddened to hear of Williams passing at such a young age, I babysat the Briody children for Anne and Paul, many years ago, when they lived on Holywell Road and I have very fond memories of those times. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this dreadfully sad time. Rest in Peace William.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bill in the local rowing club and coxing his crew. Hand on heart, I can say, Bill was always an absolute gentleman to his fingertips. After Bill took time away from the club, we kept in touch, I will sincerely miss our chats and banter. I truly admired and drew strength from Bill's unwavering positive outlook and courage during recent years. I am heart broken that such a gentle & kind soul has departed us.
I will always remember Bill fondly and will treasure the memories I have.

Bill was a kind soul and a gentle giant. He was always there for me when i asked for his help and always when i asked about pints.

He will be remembered as a great team mate and for the man he was. A gent and a jester all in one.

He was a proud father and i will always remwber how he spoke of his kids and their amazing relationship. I hope i can follow his example with my own daughters.

I enjoyed your company always, from the singing to the bad driving and even your terrible rendition of a geordie accent.

Very sorry to hear this news. I met Bill with his pals at Damien Dempsey gig last year and he was chatting away in great form. Good memories of being with himself and Dave getting the bus home from St. Pauls in the 90s. May he rest in peace
