So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a wonderful colleague and a great support to students and the Sport Department in DIT/TU Dublin. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace.

So sad to hear this news. What a top man Bill was. A great pal of ours in our Masters days in Aungier St back in the early 2000s. There was always a laugh and some mischief to be had when Bill was around. Such sad news. Rest in peace Bill - thinking of you and your family.

So sad to hear about the loss of Bill.

Bill had genuine warmth, kindness and a unique sparkle. I met him on my first day at DIT. I’ll never forget how he made me so welcome. Days later I was at his 50th birthday celebration, and we quickly became firm friends.

Not only was he a dear friend and much valued confidant, Bill was also a brilliant academic colleague. Smart, articulate and capable of astute insight and observation. He had a special way with words. But his particular gift was that he could talk to anyone, of any age or background, and find rapport. Very special indeed.

He was remarkably kind, and would regularly go out of his way to help me and many others.

It goes without saying that Bill was great fun. The best. Always up for a drink and laugh, we shared many unforgettable adventures.

I’ll always treasure those happy memories, and am so thankful to have had his friendship.

My thoughts are with his family at this very sad time. He will be sorely missed.

I was extremely sad to hear to Bill’s death . I have very happy memories from our holidays in tramore many moons ago. My sincere sympathy to his immediate family and his sisters Bernadette and Mary .

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of cousin Bill.

We shared so many wonderful memories together as young teens, lots of hearty belly laughs and unforgettable adventures. He was always full of empathy and kindness, qualities that made him a truly special person. I met him on the Thurles to Dublin train a few years ago & Bill regaled me with fun memories, and his stories brought so much joy and laughter. It was a trip I will never forget, a testament to the kind of person Bill was—someone who could turn an ordinary journey into a cherished memory.
Bill always swelled with pride when talking about Louis and Katie, it was heartwarming to see how much he loved them.
Bill will be greatly missed, but his spirit, kindness, and the joy he brought into our lives will remain with us forever.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Bill’s passing. I’ve known Bill since he started his MPhil in DIT in 2005 and he was always such a warm, generous and affable colleague. You could be guaranteed he’d greet you with a smile and I know students thought so highly of him. He was also immensely proud of Katie and Louis and would talk about them frequently.
