To Nula, Grainne, Helen, Patricia, Sheila, Frank, Jimmy, Paul my sincere sympathy on the passing of your father Willie.
For 39 years he was my coach, my mentor, and above all my inspiration. His kindness to all athletes he coached bare fruit on many who received scholarships, national honours, international competition and changed the lives of so many people home or abroad. The respect Willie showed to so many truly showed what a remarkable person he was. Through Willie so many life long friendship were made that once again you bring us all together. Thanks to you the Logan family, you shared your father with so many others that he was also our father figure. In Willie own words A great coach is not one that knows all but one that learns from their mistakes. Farewell Willie and thank you for 39 wonderful years

Will was a gentleman, coach, and father figure to all those athletes he brought in to his orbit. He freely shared his expertise, endless nuggets of wisdom, and had a gracious open heart. So many experiences, friendships and memories happened because of Will's passion and endearing sense of humour. Everytime you toed the line, you thought not just of yourself or the team but about seeing Will beam with pride, and regardless of how you performed he'd be planning the next session for two day's hence. No matter what, the show must go on, we move forward, Will's legacy continues with everyone he met in his long and impactful life. Will, you'll be sorely missed, but forever cherished. My condolences to all the family for the loss of a very special man.
My deepest condolences to all the Logan family. Willie was a fantastic coach. Who coached me and countess others over the years. Many of the athletes Willie coached went on to have great success. The memories i have of training sessions and races and the banter with everyone i trained with will last a lifetime. Willie will be missed. R.I.P
I have just heard that Bill has passed over. I send my deepest condolences to his family, to you all... an incredible family that always supported every person they ever met. Nuala (mother) was a powerhouse and an inspiration, Liam, a most gifted athlete and person that wastaken too early, and Bill, the man who gave of his time and expertise so willingly to 1000s of young athletes. I am the athlete I am today thanks to the Logan family and especially Bill Logan. 60 years on from when I first met him first in the LPYMA grounds, and many tens of thousands of miles of racing later, I often recall his passion for running..and winning 😆. My 1st pair of spikes were given to me Frank, by your dad Bill... they were too small for you. Scholarships later, a generation of Irish athlete owe their origins and success to Bill Logan, and Nuala who always had the flask of milky tea. I honour your dad and will dedicate my next Guinness World Record to him and to your mam on the Himalayas in October. Slán Bill Logan.. a treasure is lost 😔 😢.

Nuala, Trish, Jimmy & Sam: You already know what a fantastic man your Dad was: a great Limerick man, a devoted Limerick AC/athletics man, and a wonderful family man! It was in his role as coach and mentor that I was priveleged to know him. One word of praise from Willie was worth so much, and one word of disapproval made you change your ways! My deepest sympathies to all the Logan family on the very sad passing of Willie. He was my greatest coach I would have won nothing without this man or the love I have of running . His legacy is that I am still running all those years later. He was dedicated and had faith in each athlete and got the best out of us all. Fondly remember the sessions in Salesian’s, St.Edna’s and the track. He thought me how to pace by cycling behind me and telling me if I dropped speed by his pedalling. Those were the best of times and wonderful memories . May your gentle soul rest on peace.
Our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your dad - may his gentle soul rest in peace forever
