As I look across from my old family home on Main Street at number 71, the former home of the Maher family, I think of Jack heading to the 5.30 pm rosary every evening, Teresa serving in the shop, Billy, Tommy and Rene coming home to visit the old City of the Kings. I extend our sincere sympathy to all of Bill's family on his death. Bill was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and he was a terrific help to many through his Bank work! Brian shared membership with him in the Lions Club and we have fond memories of the many functions and activities.

I first got to know Bill when we both worked in Bank of Ireland and in later years through Malahide Golf Club. I frequently consulted him for information and advice and he was always very helpful . May he rest in peace.

The best looking man in any company and kind and honest to the core. You have been very lucky to have him as your dad and I know each of you has a part of the best of him in you. Bill & I were friends since the late 50"s where we shared "digs" in Waterford.
Our friendship continued in Malahide where we both joined the Lions Club. He was awarded the Lions Melvin Jones Medal for outstanding service"s.

The appellation ‘gentleman’ belonged to Bill Maher more than almost any other person I have ever met. Handsome and debonair, affable, warm and open, he was a remarkable individual and I am very sorry to learn that he is no longer with us.
