Genuine condolences to Buddy and all the Eggleston family. Very sad to hear Billy had passed away. He taught me physics in the early 70's. I quickly realised that I was dealing with a scholarly genius of his field but I did not appreciate him fully until after my student days. I later discovered he was an absolute gentleman and that the depth and range of his knowledge was not limited to things scientific but extended to a broad range of the humanities.
A kind, gentle and unassuming person and great company too.
He will be sadly missed.

Billy was an exceptionally talented Science teacher who I had the good fortune to be taught by in Kellys. He was very approachable and patient and his knowledge of science was remarkable. A lot of great memories from his classroom where every class was magic.
