I knew Billy for a brief few years from times as "neighbours" in the house in Blackwater.
Holidaying there always had its jobs....and Billy always made sure they were done.
Always pleasant and fun to meet.

The wonderful thing about family is that the bonds never grow weaker through absence. Our fond memories of Billy are of his kindness, his gentle manner, and his love of fun.

To say that someone treated you like one of their own grandchildren is meaningful in any sense, but doubly so when you know how much Billy loved his.

As time passed we came to realise that this is just how Billy treated everyone, because that is how good men treat others. And that just made him more special.

Billy was one of those foods of life that you could eat as much of as you liked and never get fed up.
He was a contagious health hazard, causing enlargement of the heart and lungs, and infected everybody he met.
He had a light like the LED on a TV, always on standby, and that went to full power when a joke or a joker pushed his button.
I still hear his unrestrained laughter from the last time we encountered each other, and I reckon it’s the best way to remember him, so I will.
