Rest in peace my friend, I’ll miss seeing you around town.
Very sad to hear of William's death. Whether in national school, in Superquinn or elsewhere, William was a character like no one else. Rest in peace with a King who puts all the other royalty you liked completely in the shade. William.
Much sadness to learn of Cousin William's passing. A knowledgeable and uncomplaining man who loved keeping his family connections, past and present, active .His legacy lives on. He regularly sent postcards to the UK to my mother Becky McGregor to keep in contact which brought much joy. William, as in life, has left his mark and numerous memories. A special man. God Bless.
Very sad to hear of the passing of William. My thoughts are with his relatives and friends. I grew up in Finglas and knew William and his lovely mam.
Sad news indeed.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Very sad to hear of William's death. Little did i know that the last time we met at the bus stop would be just that. Rest in peace .
I go back a long way to Finglas national school around 1958 as Williams mum walked me home from school .We always stopped at Claveleys sweet shop .My mum would go mad as i could not eat my dinner as i was so stuffed.I met William many times over the years as i was involved in the grocery trade. We met at Church events and concerts and you would never know where he would turn up.Just a lovely guy who i am sure will be missed by so many people.
I met William in the Parliament St. Oxfam bookshop in 2004. We have been friends ever since. Never have I known a more engaging personality. He truly was a man for all seasons. He loved books, he loved people, and would amble the streets, come rain or shine, in search of both. Yet there was nothing pedestrian about him. He was the definition of erudition, a master rhetorician. I will miss his good humour and his great humour, A light has gone out on Clancy Road, but a Constellation has appeared overhead. God bless William.
William was a gentleman who was born a century too soon; he would have been much more at home in a more graceful age. He was unfailingly polite, courteous, helpful and a great conversationalist. He had boundless knowledge on myriad subjects, yet never flaunted his learning, and I always enjoyed our occasional chats. He hadn't great health in the last few years unfortunately, but now he is re-united with his late lovely Mum; the light of heaven to them both. sincere sympathy to all his relatives and friends.

I have known William since my childhood in the 50s and he was a part of my world since then. When we met on his trips to the city he always had an interesting story to share. He spoke about his travels and was an expert on European monarchies. I will miss those meetings and chats. My condolences to Williams family and friends.
This is to William :- - I remember many great times we had in the" Y " - and coming back home on the Bus to Finglas - also those amazing Capernwray Holidays in Europe - such lots and lots of fun. In 1970 I remember you ordered for my father some Blue Mold Cheese - which we all loved ! - you started a trend in making available in Superquinn so many new and different types of Cheese - Thank you for that and these fond memories you have left with us - We shall all miss you William and I look forward to seeing you and catching up when we meet again in Heaven.
