The world is a little less bright with Willie's passing. He was had an exceptionally gifted mind, a fun and mischievous soul and personal integrity few have. During interviews in Ireland, his brilliance set him apart from so many applicants. More than his contributions to the enterprise, he blessed so many people that he met with his friendship, I admired him for his technical skills but was in awe of his personality and his ability to share his knowledge. RIP Mr. Costello - you will be missed.
My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends that are left behind during this very sad time. Until we all meet once again, may God hold him in the palm of his hand and give peace and comfort to those left behind as we remember the passion that he had for family, work and life.
To his family and friends, so sorry for your loss. We started running William's race car for him in Oregon a few years ago. He won the first race he ran with us, which was a meaningful accomplishment for him. Even though we did not continue to win every race since, we developed a great working relationship and a valued friendship. We are fortunate to have known William and to have met Ben, Suzanne, Tony and his family. We will forever miss him .

My deepest sympathies to Willie's family and friends. His passing is heartbreaking. He embraced life to the fullest, and was absolutely loyal to the people he cared about. He will be missed.
I will miss your sense of humor and laugh. Rest easy Will.
I am deeply saddened to lose another good friend and colleague from the wonderful world of high tech facility project design and construction.
I first met Willie in Rio Rancho, New Mexico in 1995. He was a great help to me during design completion and startup of the mechanical systems for Intel’s premier manufacturing facility (at the time). I considered him a mentor, a colleague, and friend. We worked together again in Hillsboro, Oregon during the 2010’s. I will truly miss Willie and his insight into the details of mechanical system controls and the complexities of designing and building highly reliable facility systems for high tech facilities. Most of all, I will miss him for his friendship and warm smile. My condolences to all who mourn the loss of this fine man.

When I heard the news. I was in shock. Will - you were one of a kind. Brilliant in thought with a kindness that not enough people were fortunate to witness. I will miss you - your smile, your sense of humor and the way you articulated your thoughts. Those that know what I am talking about know what I am talking about.
You are truly one of a kind
and I will never forget you from the time I first met you at Aloha in 2003.
See you in Heaven.

My dear William....We met when I rented an apartment his first Portland apartment after he moved from Arizona. We made fast friends and had the luxury of living in the same apartment complex....We spent the next few years running the streets and having all kinds of fun! I went to Ireland when Will was back working at Intel Dublin and he was a wonderful host to a very exciting trip for me out of country! My only Passport stamp to date actually. We learned a lot about each other and life in general through those years...I will never forget the intro to Armani and all of the finer things in life.....what style William had:) Love to you old friend:) xo Say hi to my Dad please:)
Willie Costello, a lovely, kind, witty man. Willie was extemely kind to me on a visit to see my dad in Portland many moons ago. It was an absolute pleasure to have met him - a young man taken far too soon. Sleep tight Willie & god bless.
Willie, I will always remember that great smile and that great accent. We shared some good laughs and some great stories. You will be missed, but you will be greatly remembered!! Rest in peace Willie!!
To his dear and grieving family, I can only attempt to feel your grief at this loss. Such a fine man he was. The photo you have used so captures his personality. A good friend to many. A man of energy and commitment. At work he was brilliant and did not suffer fools or incompetence easily. I recall more than once being "gob smacked" at what he had done in the field during a difficult startup. We first met in 1994 in New Mexico when he came over for "training" but I soon saw that he was the one doing the training to the techs AND the engineers! He performed in an outstanding manner on the Fab 14 project in Leixlip as the lead engineer for the instrumentation and control systems. Then we met up again in Oregon on the last project we worked together on. But it was his person that I just enjoyed being with on or off work. When his mum and sister came to Oregon many years ago he made sure that my wife and I came to the Hall Street Grill to meet them. What an honor it was to have known Will. Lucky me.
Willie, you were a great colleague, a great friend, and a good Man, we had some great times
Rest in peace.......
