I am very sad my good friend John has passed away. Condolences to his wonderful family. He only retired last year at 82. John was a master old-school self taught techie, he was big and with a big  personality too. He started fixing wind-up gramophones then valve radios, transistor radios, black and white TVs, then colour TVs then volt meters then main frame computers becoming responsible for Honeywell for West of Ireland then a tech for EI Electronics. A big man is so so many ways he will be sorely missed. RIP John.

It was with deep sadness that I learned of the death of John.

John had a long relationship with Ei, first as a Honeywell Engineer and subsequently as an Ei employee.
He was a great colleague at work and play!
He enjoyed the sports and social activities like bowling and go-karting!
He had a great sense of humour and always fun to be with! A thorough gentleman!

Sincere condolences to the Emery family on your great loss. I first met John more than 50 years ago when he arrived in Shannon as this region's Honeywell Computer Support Engineer. I soon discovered that John was a self taught mathematician and electronic genius who could solve all Hatdware and Sofware problems that arose with our Honewell Computers. He was also a lovely gentle and unassuming giant, who loved to talk about his Dad and his family. Farewell John, it was my great pleasure to have known you. You lived a good life John. They always took the time to have many conversations with me over the years and always made me feel welcome at their home. May your Dad be reunited with your Mum and may they both rest in peace.

Condolences to all the family. I knew John through his lifelong friendship with John Gibson from Hayling Island. John was often around our house on Hayling and I have many lovely memories of him from my early childhood in the 1960s and 1970s. I am sorry for your loss at this sad time.
