My sincere condolences to Sharon, Sonja, Des and Will on the passing of your lovely dad. I will always remember dear Ken with great fondness and treasure the valuable friendship we shared when he was at UCD and even over the last few years. He was such a kind, thoughtful and conscientious person with a wide range of talents and interests and certainly lived a full and enriched life. I enjoyed all our many chats and correspondences over this time. A true gentleman in every respect and one of a kind. May his gentle soul now rest in peace.

I well remember Ken's organ recital in a church in Rathmines, Dublin. He also played at my wedding. Nicola joins me in expressing condolences to his family. A gentle talented inorganic chemist from the North, he was.

Ken and I shared many jokes and lunches. He was a gentleman and a fine musician. It may be some consolation to think that evolution dictates that everyone who lives leaves an indelible eternal imprint, so that while Ken as we knew him is gone his essences. Persists forever. Remember him with great affection, when they made Ken the mold was broken.

Dearest Sonja, Sharon, Des and Will, I was so very sorry to hear of your lovely father's death.

Such fond memories enjoying his company at many happy gatherings in Kilbeg, Dublin and London.

Sincere condolences to the Glass family. Ken was a wonderful colleague who made a warm and lasting impression on all the staff and generations of students at UCD Chemistry.

I am very sad to hear of Ken's passing. I knew him during my postgraduate years in UCD from 1977 to 1981. I visited him several times since over the years. He had unique insights and saw things other did not. His sense of humour, brilliance and kindness brightened our lives.

I am filled with sorrow on the passing of Ken, my dear friend and mentor. We enjoyed many great conversations and lots of laughter over the years since I joined UCD, he was knowledgeable on so many topics, and such a wonderful musician. I will miss those lunches very much. May he rest in peace.

I learned with great sadness Ken's passing a few days ago. I was one of the first post grad students of his in the mid 60's. It was shortly after the department moved to Belfield. They were great days. I met him for several lunches about five years age with others the chemistry and found him the same as ever. Unfortunately I have a prior medical appointment and will not be able to attend tomorrow's service: my thoughts go out to his family.
