All who had the pleasure of ever meeting and dealing with Bill will remember him as a total gentleman, a gentle, kind sincere man, an enthusiastic Gaeilgoir, a proud Kerry man, and a relaxed golfer. It was a privilege to attend Bill's funeral Mass and hear beautiful music in the spirit of the man himself, and the heartfelt tributes paid to him by his loving family. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I was very sad to hear of Bill’s passing away. He was one of my favourite colleagues in IIRS / EOLAS / NSAI. He was very helpful to my work, with regard to , searching and interpretation of technical standards.
He always put people he met, totally at ease with his lovely gentle manner.
Everyone he knew, will sadly miss him.

I remember Bill very well as we spent time working in IIRS, Roseville House, in the early 1970's, then again later on, from the late 80's.

Certainly a true Gentleman.

Very fondly remembering a true gent who was a wonderful friend and neighbour especially to our dad who enjoyed Liam’s company and witty conversations on his walks around Bancroft.You were always in good form Liam and put a smile on dads face when you teased him over The Dubs and how “Sam” was going back to the Kingdom! May the two of you continue your Gaa banter above with the “man” himself as referee! You will be so sadly missed by all in Bancroft.

Sincerest condolences and good wishes to Bill’s near and extended family on this severe loss. Most affable gentleman and we often even during a golf game would be quoting “An Glean nor tháning mé” and a fluent French speaker.
A huge loss to all. who were lucky to come in contact with him in his Lilfe well lived.
I would say the bed of Heaven is well made up for him, he truly deserves it.

Bill was a thorough gentlemen to deal with. His quiet and relaxed manner masked a sharp mind. He was very diligent and committed in his work especially in the area of European Standards and their adoption into our national standards. May he rest in peace.

Sad to hear about Tony's passing. We shared many wonderful conversations in the canteen in IIRS/Eolas about Irish and poetry as well on golf outings. We had a telephone conversation a few months back and he was in good form.
