It’s with great sadness I heard of Liam Cotters passing. I’ve known Liam and his siblings over 50 years, albeit he was more known in GAA and UCC circles, his support as a sibling to his family was even more profound. He was always the focal point, along with his sister Sheila, and I know of many occasions he came to all their needs, especially his sisters. At dheis Dé go raibh a anam Liam.

My condolences to Mary & family. I only heard of Liam's passing, and I am away on holidays. I and the Twomey family, especially my Dad Mick, were so fond of Liam. I will never forget how helpful and kind he was when my Dad was sick. He was out every day sitting with my Dad administering his medicine. He was such a calm presence and he truly epitomises kindness. Men like Liam do not exist anymore. His kind is gone. Mary has lost a genuine soul and his children plus his grand kids, but the world has a lioat, a human being brimming with natural goodness. I would love to be there in person. Im sure he and Mick are together in heaven singing. God bless xx

Dear Mary, Pat, Chris, Margaret and families. Our deepest sympathy on the legend that was Liam. He could do practically everything and on the rare occasion, he couldn’t , he knew someone who could! He was a wonderful friend, neighbour and someone who was always there, be it a beep of the car horn, a chat or to borrow something from.
We hope you find comfort in the cherished memories of an exception man.

Growing up McCurtains villas, every kid knew Mr. Cotter. As a group of young's boys we had a 10% fear of him and 90% respect for him. As we got older that 10% fear turned into 100% respect. He was in fact the perfect neighbour that us kids needed. He devoted his time to hurling and football and the kids around the neighborhood. We heard stories of him playing hurling with the younger men just because they were short. He was a legend up in Lough rovers and a very respected person on the Villas.
