Just received the sad news of our great friend and ex work colleague Willie McDonnell who has now left for greener pastures. Willie was one of those great men, who loved his family, his football, and all social gatherings. Willie always gave a 5 star performance as our very reliable soccer goalkeeper with Arbour Hill, and he said he was blameless for the goal that came from the 'bouncing ball' and that it was the fault of his back four. (They went missing ! ) Of course we remember his party piece 'King of the Road'. Willie served his time with distinction, and was loved by everyone who knew him. A tough and challenging life never fazed him, and now we must sadly bid farewell to one of life's true gentlemen. Our thoughts and prayers are with Marie and family.

I have very happy memories of Billy from when he lived with us for a short time during the early 60s in Manchester.
We used to look forward to him coming in after work he would often bring us in chips accompanied with his big smile.
May he rest in peace ,a peace he richly deserves where he will be reunited with the loved ones whom have preceded him .
