Your Mom, Sarah and I were in Physiotherapy school together and when I first moved to Canada Sarah was already here and was so welcoming to me ( and many others). I stayed on in Canada, but Sarah returned home in a very large part to be with your Dad, Patrick. I have such fond memories of Patrick on both sides of the ocean! He was so kind, so funny, and as so many have noted such a gentleman. My thoughts are with you all- he will be missed but is back now with his beloved Sarah.

I hadn't seen Paddy (as I knew him then) since we were at school together in Enniskillen in the 1970s. Life sometimes works out like that - a little sad, because he was a person whom I'd like to have known in later life - but I have fond memories of a very funny, cheerful, good-natured person. We shared many laughs together. Condolences to his family and friends.

Back in the day (40 years ago!!) Patrick was the centre of the “craic” - and a friend to all. RIP.

Whilst it may be some years since I last met Pat in person, I've such good and very fond memory's of our time working together in Bausch & lomb, always in good spirits and took everything life threw at him in his stride. The excitement of when the kids came along and their visits into the office, his pride was infectious, I am so sorry to hear of his passing, he fought his illness for so long, rest easy now and I hope you are back in the arms of your beloved Sarah

I started out knowing Patrick's son, Nathanael, through mutual friends. Over many conversations we shared, I came to know Patrick. I called him Papa O'Davin, being American and having very few Irish friends. Nathanael and Patrick really seemed to get a kick out of it, and never complained about my taste in nicknames. I recall with great joy, the trip he and Nathanael took which I was privy to the conversation. They bickered as sons and fathers do, all through the road trip and though i wasnt there in person, i felt like i was right alongside them. Patrick had a spirit much younger than his body and a lust for life. It is without a doubt a shame that he passed on so soon...but it is also true that only the good die young. Patrick was one of the good and I will miss him dearly.

RIP Patrick,I will always make sure that your grandson Keegan knows what a great man his grandad was. So glad he got to meet you. May you rest in peace with your beloved wife Sarah❤️

Sending all my love to the Davin family. I am praying for comfort and peace for you all. I am forever grateful for Patrick (and family's) hospitality when my friend John and I came to visit Ireland for the first time in 2014. We had such a wonderful time experiencing Ireland and owe so much of that trip to Patrick.

I will cherish the hours we spent on video chat as we were getting to know one another. I had so looked forward to meeting Patrick in person one day after the pandemic is over. My heart is broken to hear he is gone. Though I am far away on another continent I am with all his friends and family in spirit as we bid him farewell on his travels to the next big adventure. We love you, Patrick.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Patrick all my life. My Dad was his godfather. Patrick was consistently kind and caring. A truly gentle man. His selfless nature and great sense of humour never waned despite his many years of ill health. And he never complained. We shall all remember the fun we had at the Davin’s and Porter’s soirées back in the day!
Patrick will be greatly missed. Sincere condolences to John, Grace and family. And to Nathaniel, Denise and Paddy; You have had the best Dad you could ever wish for. May he rest in peace.

What a wonderful role model Patrick was for us all. He was always helping and supporting others and not thinking of himself, despite his long history of health problems, which he bore with good grace and humour. Our condolences to all the family. Nathanael, Denise, Paddy, your father was such a caring heart. I cannot describe how much all of us will miss him. He was very wise, always staying positive no matter what, and really was the kindest most gentle soul. There aren't quite enough words to truly describe how wonderful a friend he was to us all. I remember he loved adventure, and music as well as telling the greatest true life stories. One word that comes to mind when I think of Patrick, is Unbreakable. He kept going no matter how hard the times got. We all have learned from Patrick's impact on our lives. To never give up, to keep going and live as long as our lives allow. I learned life is too short sometimes, but always meaningful. My Prayers, positive wishes, and hopes go forth to all of you. Patrick will be remembered by us all. Forever.and Always.
