William Walsh

On this eve of the All Irealand hurling final, my heart goes out to Moira, Mark, Karl and the entire family.
Billy was deeply involved in hurling and his love of it gave added meaning to this weekend every year.
His enthusiasm brought together not just Tullaroan, Kilkenny and Whitehall Colmcille but friends and aficionados from throughout the hurling world and far beyond.
His compass was both far wider and far deeper for he brought great joy to all who met him. It was a gift he gave freely and a pleasure for us to receive and be part of.
We are privileged to have known him and miss him enormously.

Sincere condolences on the passing of Billy who we fondly remember from our time in Swords and meeting on our walks on Collins Avenue where he always had time to talk about the hurling and trying to recruit our son with Cork blood to Whitehall GAA.

Moira and Family, my sincere condolences on the unexpected loss of Billy.
I have been lucky enough (particularly as a proud Corkwoman!!) to count him as a friend for over 25 years, working with him not once but twice and bonding with him over many many debates as to which county had the better hurling and camogie team.
He was a person who would be there for you in good times but more importantly in the not so good times and his loss to you his beloved family (asking about his grandchildren guaranteed to bring a deeper smile and an extra softness to him) will be immense.
I just hope all these validations of the special person he was will bring you comfort in the times ahead.
