Sorry to hear about the passing of Willie, often had few laughs and bit of craic ,with him at various GAA fields up and down the county.
Met him often around Allen church too at some happy, and some sad occasions.Doing what willie did best, serving, and helping, the community.

I wish to extend my sympathy to the Reidy family, Ballyteague GFC and Willie’s friends on this sad occasion.
Willie belonged to that brave band of Gaelic Games personalities who are prepared to take a referee’s whistle and exercise it alone between two rival teams and their supporters.
He took charge of a few games in Broadford, when I was the club’s secretary, and while our paths hadn’t crossed in many years, I too am sorry to hear of his passing.

So sorry to hear of Willie’s passing a great character and a gent . Many a good day with him refing School games . Condolences to all his Family . Rest in Peace Willie 🙏🏻 .

Our task in Cumann na mBunscol has always been to foster a love of Gaelic games in primary school children. There was nobody who was a greater ambassador for this than Willie. The manner in which he spoke to children, as a referee, was exemplary. His kind, generous and understanding nature shining through. His love of GAA was always evident. He was a gentleman who everybody warmed to.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his family on his passing.

I met Willie a number of years ago through the various card-playing clubs (namely 25) and he was always a great character and so passionate about GAA.

He was a most pleasant thorough gentleman!!!! who worked so hard for his family. He worked voluntarily and tirelessly!!! for his beloved Ballyteague GAA club….and doing car parking duties for our chapel/graveyard for many many years in all weathers. He has left a legacy very hard to follow.
