Willie had a presence and energy in the office. He was a great voice in the union, deeply committed and dedicated.

He was such a gentleman, it's just so sad.

Willie and I were architectural colleagues in the OPW and while Willie and I never worked on any project together or in the same section of the OPW, it was always a pleasure to meet him around the office and to attend various office functions that we were both at.

I got to know Willie when eadestown and confey met on the football pitch.I had the pleasure of working with him with kildare ladies u12 team in 2002. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. He was kind, thoughtful, caring, funny and respectful. Although I did not see Willie for a number of years I feel a huge loss at reading of him death. I can only imagine the loss his passing is to his family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Willie was a lovely person and I always had a great interaction with him where ever we met. As a referee or county board official and county management banter was always good. Truly saddened at his loss.

Shocked to hear of Willies death. So sorry.

As someone who met Willie during the early days of my career in New Works 5, Wille was always full of fun and arguments - a melting pot of eccentric character that we all had to adjust to. In latter years, when I met him on the golf course, he still had the same sense of fun and was full of energy.
So sad to hear of his untimely death and I send my sincere condolences to his wife Rose and to his loving family

It was sadness l learned about Willie's death. He was a good friend, work colleague and gave sound advice freely. Not afforded the chance to enjoy retirement he will be sadely missed. May he rest in peace and his family fine peace remembering the life he lead and the joy he shared with all who knew him.

I was Saddened to Learn of the Death of Willie.
Willie spent many days and even worked long into the night on the Restoration of Kilkenny Castle When i worked there.He was dedicated and precise to ensure our Castle Restoration would bring it back to its full glory.I worked late on many nites to accomadate Willie and his colleague Pat Gannon.I only did this because both Willie and Pat were a joy to work with and showed me many aspects of their work.Willie i could always have a good Laugh with and was happy with what was happening with My Castle as i called it. My Sincere Condolences to his Wife and Family and his colleagues in the OPW He is already drawing up Plans to restore Heaven which i know St Peter will be very pleased with .Frank Retired OPW Kilkenny Castle.
