Willie Dowling

My sincere condolences to Willie’s family and friends. We used have a great chat during his days working at what was then Owenabue Cabs and when I was working upstairs in The Carrigdhoun. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

So sorry to hear of Willie's passing, a friend of mine for many years, used to always beat me at snooker and was always up for a laugh and a joke. I just have to close my eyes and I can hear him singing the old Paul Anka hit "Diana" or Neil Sedaka's "Oh Carol" in the pub with Johnny Crowley playing. Legends like Willie don't come around very often and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Willie. He was such a wonderful character. Happy memories of him growing up in John St. all those years ago and later in the bar on Monday nights where he was very popular and kept us all entertained.
