Dan Smyth

A lifetime Biology teacher and later President of Cistercian College, Roscrea, previously a member of North Tipperary Co. Council.

Passed away peacefully at his home on the 03rd October 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Bill and Margaret, brother Jim, grandson Caoímhín and sister-in-law Margaret.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Phyl, his children, William, Freda, Margaret, Anna, Thomas and Grace, his adored grandchildren Sophie, Bláithín, Danny, Liam and Pierce, his sisters Grace, Breeda and Kathleen, brothers Mick, Frank and Willie, son-in-law Karl, daughters-in-law Basia and Carína, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, very good neighbours and wide circle of friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Tierney's Funeral Home, Roscrea (E53 NY70) on Monday evening from 4.00pm to 7.00pm. Private removal from his residence on Tuesday morning at 11.30am arriving in St. Cronan's Church, Roscrea (E53 PK82) for Funeral Mass at 12.00 noon. Burial afterwards in Ballinree Cemetery.
