WALLACE (Cork) On 17th February 2025, peacefully, after a short illness, in the tender care of the staff of St. Mary’s Ward, Mercy University Hospital, DAN, Montenotte and late of Farranree, former Lord Mayor of Cork, Minister of State and T.D. for the Constituency of Cork North Central. Dearly beloved husband of Ethel (née Sutton), loving father of Fiona (O’Neill), Damian, Kieran, Nicola (Foley) and Andrea (Fitzgerald), devoted granda of Daniel, Rachel, Aisling, Emma, Cathal, Seán, Naoise, Áine, Alex, Luke, Ciarán, Ben, Sam, Annabelle, Sarah and Rebecca and great granda of Ellie, loving son of the late John and Nina and dearest brother of Marie, John, Joan, Bernard, Eddie and the late Timmy, Sheila, Barry and Richard.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife, family, daughters-in-law Grace and Tracy, sons-in-law Roy, Shane and Kieran, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Wednesday (19th February) at 11.00am, family in attendance from 4.00pm with Rosary Prayers at 7.00pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday (20th February) at 11.00am in the Church of the Resurrection, Farranree. Funeral afterwards to St. Mary’s New Cemetery, Curraghkippane.
