It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dara Whelan, of Derrybeg, Ballyclough, Co. Limerick. Dara passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after bravely enduring a long illness that he fought with great wit and humour for many years.

He will be forever missed by his adoring and tireless parents, Barry and Mary, his loving brothers Bryan and Trevor, his sisters-in-law Tara and Hilary, and his cherished nephews Max, Hugo, Paddy, and Rory. Dara is also survived by his extended family and a large circle of friends of all ages as well as his many helpers and partners in crime, who helped him enjoy life more than many in his situation do.

Dara will lay in repose at the family home in Derrybeg (Eircode V94XY02) on Monday, 7th of October, between 4:00pm and 7:00pm. Arriving at St. Nessan’s Church, Raheen on Tuesday, 8th of October for Funeral Mass at 1pm, to view live stream please click here , followed by Service in Shannon Crematorium.
