The death has occurred of
David (Darby) Looney
LOONEY (Cork) On 1st October 2025, unexpectedly but peacefully, in the presence of his loving family, at the Mercy University Hospital, DAVID (DARBY), Rathpeacon Road, Farranree and late of St. Joseph’s View, Glanmire. Dearly beloved husband of Jackie, much loved father of Aimee, adored pops of Sean and Nathan and son of Pat and the late David.
Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughter, grandsons, mother, son-in-law Shane, sister Joan, brothers John and Stephen, brother-in-law Derry, sisters-in-law Valerie and Sharon, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Monday (6th October) from 10.00am, family in attendance at 4.00pm with Prayers at 5.00pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday (7th October) at 12 noon in the Church of the Resurrection, Farranree. Funeral afterwards to The Island Crematorium, Rocky Island, Ringaskiddy. No flowers by request of the family. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the R.N.L.I.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the emergency personnel, first responders and paramedics who attended to David during this difficult time.
