David McNamara

David McNamara of Old Golf Links Road, Tralee and formerly Ballybeg, Dingle, Co. Kerry and Dunkereen, Crossbarry, Co. Cork, (Retired Garda Sergeant, Chairman of Na Gaeil G.A.A. & Chairman of West Munster Rugby) died unexpectedly but peacefully, at home, on 9th January 2026, beloved husband of Margaret, cherished father of Robbie, Barry & Brian and dear brother of Dympna, Louise, Paddy, Regina and the late Cornelius Joseph.

Sadly missed by his loving family, his grandchildren Sarah, Caoimhe, Aedan, Peter & Éabha, daughters-in-law Laura & Aline, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, former colleagues, neighbours and many friends.

Rest in Peace.

David will repose at the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee, on Sunday (11th January) from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral arriving to St. John’s Church, Tralee on Monday morning at 9.30 a.m. where the Requiem Mass for David will be celebrated at 10 a.m. (streamed on www.stjohns.ie). Interment afterwards in Milltown Cemetery, Dingle.
