It is with deep sadness that David’s father John, sisters Karen and Sandra, brother John and their families share the heartbreaking news of his death with you. David passed away peacefully, sooner than expected, surrounded by family and friends. Predeceased by his mother Mary.
Deeply mourned by all his family, relatives and many great friends, in particular by his brothers-in-law Christopher and Diarmuid, sister-in-law Áine, by his adored nieces and nephews whom he idolized, Sarah, Aaron, Chris, John, James, Mary and Beth, by his uncles, aunts, cousins and his friends who were ‘like family’.

David will lie in Repose at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. (H91 V1K8),
Friday, 27th March 2026
Requiem Mass will be celebrated for David at 12 noon on arrival at Galway Cathedral (H91 A780). Live streaming link: Galway Cathedral Webcam | Galway Cathedral
Following Mass, he will be laid to rest with his mother, Mary, in Rahoon cemetery.
No flowers please. If you would like to make a memorial donation in David’s name, please consider giving to the Irish Cancer Society.

Parking and entrance to the funeral parlour.
Please approach the funeral parlour entrance on foot from Fr. Burke Park. Street parking may be available on Fr.Griffin Road, within the Claddagh, on Henry Street and Sea Road. Road works continue within the city, with road diversions in place.
Car Parks within walking distance of the parlour: The Claddagh Church, Spanish Arch and Mill Street which is adjacent to the Garda Station.
