Peacefully, in the dedicated care of the staff of Dundalk Care Home. Predeceased by his parents Joe and Mai. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing wife Joan, daughter Claire, son John, daughter-in-law Angela, grandchildren Victoria, Shea, Oisín, Fiadh and Fionn, brothers Joe and Martin, sisters-in-law Geraldine, Yvonne and Carol, Carol’s husband Raymond McGuinness, nephews and nieces Caoimhe, James, Laura and Andrew, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his home (Eircode A91 R3N0) from 3pm-8pm on both Saturday and Sunday, November 30th and December 1st. Removal on Monday, December 2nd, to St. Joseph’s Redemptorist Church (Eircode A91 WY98), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery (Eircode A91 F598).

The family wish to express their appreciation to the volunteers and staff of The Birches for the consideration shown to Declan while in their care. We especially want to acknowledge Mary Gray for her dedication and care to Declan. It truly was exceptional and will never be forgotten
