O'Connell, Deirdre, (Dee, Dee-Olade) [61], of Wellington, NZ, previously of Meadowbrook, Glanmire, Co Cork. 

Our beloved wife and mother, adored grandmother, and cherished friend. Died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Te Omanga Hospice on November 18, 2022, after a long and arduous struggle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband Steve, children Rebecca and Conal and their partners Jake and Alena, her father Eamon, brothers Sean and Ciaran, sister Brigid and their partners, brother in law Ross, her stepchildren and their partners Cara and Ollie, Tess and Jade, Shaun and Sarah, grandchildren Jayden, Jennifer, Lachlan, Jaxon, Carter, Brooke and Julia, her nieces and nephews, and many, many close friends, relatives and colleagues.

We are devastated by her loss and will miss her dearly every day.

Deirdre will be at home for an Irish wake from Sunday afternoon, 20th November. Please come and sit with her and us, have a drink, and share stories and memories about her life. 

Following the wake, her funeral service will be held at Harbour City Funeral Home, 674 Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt, on Tuesday 22nd November, at 10am and will be live-streamed for her family and friends all over the world. 

Please wear your brightest colours to both events for a celebration of her life.

We will also bring her ashes back to Ireland in the coming months and will hold a celebration of her life there too.
