Deirdre O'Connell
(née Caffrey)

The death has occurred of Deirdre O’Connell (née Caffrey), Balgriffin, Dublin (formerly of Raheny and Donegal) on March 26th, sadly and suddenly in Malaga, Spain. Previously deceased by her cherished and beloved husband, David O’Connell (Cork), Deirdre will be so sadly missed by her devoted sister Gráinne Mallon, her adored children Fergal, Ciara and Díóg and her precious grandchildren David, Ferdia, Aoife, Ciarán, Ailíse, Romy, Caitríona, Clíona, Tadhg and Félim. Her death is deeply regretted by her brothers and sister-in-law, daughter and sons-in-law, her nieces and nephews, her grand-nieces and nephews and her very wide circle of devoted and loyal friends, in Ireland and abroad, and by her kind and thoughtful neighbours.

The family would like to thank the medical team of Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Victoria, Malaga and the Embassy of Ireland, Madrid.

A memorial service will take place at a later date to honour and remember an extraordinary sister, mother, grandmother and friend to so many.
