The death has occurred of
Denis Long
LONG (Cork) On 27th October 2021, peacefully, surrounded by his devoted family in Marymount University Hospital & Hospice, DENIS, Broguemakers Hill, Shandon Street, life-long member of Glen Rovers Hurling & St. Nick’s Football Club, late of Fords and Verolme Cork Dockyard. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen (nee McCarthy) and loving father of Derek, Ciara, Valerie, Joy, Aileen, Shane, Sarah and the late Kela, adored granda of Alex, Ryan, Jack, Josh, Shane, Shaun, Aimee, Pádraig and Charlie. Sadly missed by his loving family, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, extended family at home and abroad, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street, from 12 noon on Thursday (28th October), family in attendance from 6.00pm with Rosary at 7.00pm. Reception into the North Cathedral at 12.15pm on Friday (29th October) for 12.30pm Requiem Mass. If you wish to view the Mass, click on http://www.corkcathedral.ie and follow link. Funeral afterwards to St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Kilcully. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Marymount Hospice.
The family would like to like to thank the staff of Marymount Hospice and the Mercy University Hospital for the care and kindness shown to Denis during his illness.
